DAY 1 | Arrival into Ulaanbaatar

✔️ Welcome Dinner in Ulaanbaatar

Your Mongolian adventure kicks off the moment you touch down. You’ll be greeted at the airport and transferred into the heart of the city — a place where old-world charm collides with modern chaos in the best possible way.

After settling in, we’ll come together for a welcome dinner with the Atlas Moto Tours crew and our trusted local Mongolian team. Over hearty food and cold beers, we’ll chat bikes, routes and what to expect in the days ahead. It’s more than just a meal — it’s the beginning of an unforgettable ride.

DAY 2 | Ulaanbaatar → Oortsog Enger

The day starts at 8:00 AM at the CF Moto Mongolia headquarters with a briefing and bike handover before riding southeast out of the capital. The first stop is the Chinggis Khan Statue Complex for a short break and exploration. The journey continues into the open steppes of Oortsog Enger, where riders enjoy a picnic lunch in the sand steppe. As evening falls, the group settles into camp and shares a traditional Mongolian dinner under the stars, marking the true beginning of the adventure.

DAY 3 | Oortsog Enger → Ikh Gazriin Chuluu

Breaking camp after breakfast, the ride heads south off-grid into the dramatic rock landscapes of Ikh Gazriin Chuluu, known as the “Great Place of Rocks.” After packing a trail lunch and stopping to eat under the open sky, riders enter a surreal wilderness of granite towers and boulders spread across Dundgovi Province, home to dozens of caves, including the legendary Olgii Cave. Those who explore further can take in sweeping Gobi views from Yurlug Mountain, the region’s highest point. By late afternoon, the group arrives at a traditional ger camp among the rocks, ending the day with firelight, silence, and a deep sense of awe.

DAY 4 | Ikh Gazriin Chuluu → Tsagaan Suvarga (White Stupa)

Riding south across the open Gobi Desert, the journey pushes deeper into Southern Mongolia’s vast, heat-shimmering landscapes. After a packed camp lunch and long stretches of quiet riding, the terrain transforms with the dramatic rise of Tsagaan Suvarga—the White Stupa—its wind-carved limestone cliffs resembling an ancient ruin in the desert. While July draws crowds for the Naadam Festival, this remote region remains peaceful and untouched. The day ends at a traditional tourist ger camp, resting beneath glowing cliffs and the warm southern wind.

DAY 5 | Tsagaan Suvarga (White Stupa) → Dalanzadgad

After a final morning view of Tsagaan Suvarga, the ride continues deep into the vast emptiness of the South Gobi, where endless plains, wide skies, and near-total silence define the day. With hours of uninterrupted riding, the journey includes a short stop at a remote soum for fuel and a simple local lunch. By late afternoon, riders reach Dalanzadgad, the South Gobi’s provincial capital, settling into a hotel to enjoy long-missed comforts and rest up—because tomorrow, the dunes begin.

DAY 6 | Dalanzadgad → Yolyn Am (Lammergeier Valley)

Leaving Dalanzadgad behind, the day heads toward the cool, dramatic gorge of Yolyn Am, also known as Lammergeier Valley. Set within the eastern range of the Gurvan Saikhan Mountains, this glacier-carved canyon is one of the Nine Wonders of Umnogovi, offering a striking contrast to the surrounding desert. After a relaxed morning and lunch in town, riders head toward the mountains, where cooler air and towering rock walls signal arrival. Exploring the gorge on foot reveals narrow passages, flowing water, and the chance to spot the rare Lammergeier overhead. The day ends at a traditional ger camp near the mountains, with a warm meal and a quiet, star-filled night.

DAY 7 | Yolyn Am → Khongor Sand Dunes

The ride pushes west into Gurvan Saikhan National Park, tackling one of the journey’s most challenging days across mixed terrain—from hard-packed dirt to deep sand in a remote desert landscape. By afternoon, the golden waves of Khongor Sand Dunes—the famed Singing Sands—rise from the horizon, stretching for 130 km and towering over 300 meters high, nestled between rugged mountain ridges and counted among the Nine Wonders of Umnogovi. Riding alongside the shifting dunes, the day includes a meaningful visit with a local nomadic family before returning to a ger camp for dinner under the desert stars—exhausted, sandy, and deeply satisfied.

DAY 8 | Khongor Sand Dunes → Bayanzag (Flaming Cliffs)

Leaving the dunes of Khongor Sand Dunes, the ride turns north into the green Mongolian steppe, trading soft sand for flowing trails and open grasslands on a long but rewarding day in the saddle. After a packed lunch on the move, the journey reaches Bayanzag, famously known as the Flaming Cliffs, where rust-red canyons glow at sunset. This iconic site is where Roy Chapman Andrews discovered the world’s first fossilized dinosaur eggs in 1923—an expedition often linked to the inspiration for Indiana Jones. After hiking the cliffs and soaking in their history, the day ends at a nearby ger camp, with dinner served as the cliffs burn orange in the fading light.

DAY 9 | Bayanzag → Baga Gazriin Chuluu

The journey turns north across the vast Mongolian steppe, leaving the fiery cliffs of Bayanzag behind. The day blends tarmac and off-road riding through rolling green grasslands, roaming herds, and endless horizons—perfect for settling into a steady rhythm. By late afternoon, the granite formations of Baga Gazriin Chuluu emerge in Delgertsogt soum, a rugged, spiritual landscape steeped in legend. The day ends at a traditional ger camp with a hot meal, cold drinks, and ancient stone glowing in the evening light.

DAY 10 | Baga Gazriin Chuluu → Ulaanbaatar

After breakfast beneath the granite towers of Baga Gazriin Chuluu, the final ride heads back north on mostly paved roads, offering a smooth, unhurried return and time to reflect on the journey. A lunch stop breaks up the ride before rolling back into Ulaanbaatar, where the energy of the city contrasts sharply with the quiet Gobi. Riders check into the hotel, unwind, or shop for souvenirs at the State Department Store. The day concludes with an evening of traditional Mongolian performance, followed by a heartfelt farewell dinner with the tour team—celebrating the miles, memories, and bonds forged across Mongolia.
